Teacher suspended over dodgy book

A teacher has been suspended from her job in Yorkshire after she produced a book aimed at getting a group of disaffected kids to read.

The book was based around her students and was the 2nd attempt at writing a book specifically for them to get them interested in what she was teaching. The first attempt had the great name of “Woodland Massacre” while the second was called “Stop! Don’t Read This!”, and featured drink, drugs and something which has been referred to as ‘pupil fantasies’ – whatever that means.

Weirdly though, the complaint was only raised by one set of parents of the pupils in question whilst the pupils themselves loved the book. Even the headteacher was a big fan and didn’t have a problem – until the author’s husband put it up on a self-publishing website in order for the kids to buy a print copy for when they left the school.

So, yet another case of a complaint by the minority ending up ruining someone’s job in the teaching sector. It seems that these days, you can’t do anything to engage kids who just don’t care about their educations without someone complaining about it and getting a teacher in hot water.
